The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on September 24, 2026, notified the Designation of a terrorist organisation under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, and listed it in the First Schedule of the Act.
RBI has reiterated that regulated entities (REs) shall comply with the procedure prescribed under the UAPA Order dated February 2, 2021, including for amendments to Schedules I and IV of the UAPA, 1967, and report accounts resembling listed individuals/entities to FIU-IND, in addition to informing the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). In view of the MHA notifications dated September 16, 2026, “Shahzad Bhatti Network (SBN)” has been declared a Terrorist Organisation and added as Entry 46 in the First Schedule of the UAPA, 1967 through S.O. 5080(E). REs are required to take necessary compliance action and monitor future amendments to Schedule I.
